A los pies de la sierra de Cantabria...

San Vicente de la Sonsierra

Rivas de Tereso

This village is situated at 649 meters above sea level, at the foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria, a fantastic location to enjoy both the calm setting and the long walks of the countryside. The origins of the site go back to an ancestral shrine founded in dedication to San Miguel (Saint Michael), of which only a few ruins remain today. The Church of the Conception, the ancient laundry and, following the old Way to Peciña, the ruins of the shrine of Orzales and the hermitage caves of Gobate, are among its most valued elements. Two signposted short walks lead to these sites, as well as some others: the ‘Archaeological Trail of Rivas’ and the ‘Trail of the Shrine of Toloño’.
