San Vicente de la Sonsierra

Lower Wall / Panoramic Gangway

The lower wall delimited the large interior space or cortijo. It had to be built between the end of the 13th century and the first half of the 14th century.

Its southern section was restored between 2008 and 2009, the eastern section between 2009 and 2010 and the southern section between 2016 and 2017, with the remains of the old housing settlements and wine installations appearing on its walls (more information on the archaeological remains).

In 2014 a panoramic walkway was installed (totally reversible and easily removable) that allows a view of the excavation and the exterior face of the wall, making it easier for the visitor to assess this defensive monument in its proper measure.

From the footbridge, the preserved remains raised on a powerful rocky escarpment, rises up to 15 meters from the street Carnicerías
